He has performed more than 2,000 Mohs surgeries, a state-of-the-art cancer surgical procedure, and an equal number of advanced skin reconstruction procedures. Dr. Rafael Schulze performs almost all of his reconstructive procedures under local anesthesia.

A graduate of the Advanced Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at the California Skin Institute in San Jose, Dr. Rafael Schulze studied under well-known surgeon Dr. Greg S. Morganroth. During his fellowship, he participated in more than 1,000 skin cancer extractions, which were followed by advanced surgical reconstructive techniques. As a participant in the prestigious one-year program, Dr. Schulze also received extensive training in cosmetic surgical rejuvenation procedures performed under local anesthesia. Learning to deliver effective results with the safety of locally anesthetized procedures, he was one of approximately 70 dermatologists in the United States to complete this training in 2009.

Dr. Rafael Schulze came to this unique fellowship following a dermatology residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, where he focused on laser and skin cancer surgeries. Prior to enrolling in medical school, Dr. Schulze graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and since becoming a physician, he has donated his professional skills to a variety of military efforts.

Certified by both the American Board of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery, Dr. Schulze has kept license to practice medicine in Florida. He has extensively published and presented his work in advanced dermatologic procedures and frequently receives invitations to speak at professional conferences.
